The aft EIM box will be replaced by a similar sized box which contains some connection devices and relays. You simply disconnect the 40 pin plug, power feeds and ground lead, then connect them to our new box and 40 pin harness plug.
It will be necessary to cut some fiberglass to accept the new switch panels and you will have to run the new harness and secure the wires.

"Techs usually come in my office to complain about stuff, not to
tell me how well thought out and properly executed someone’s product is. Caught
me off-guard. Thanks for that".

"I just wanted to let you know that the install went well. I
now have working switches again. The install instructions were straight
forward. I had to remove about a 2”x2” from the fiberglass to make the switches
on the right side fit. I also used my previous ignition.
Thank you for all of your help."
290 Sundancer -(Customer installation) -
you for all your help, my brother and I finally figured out the problem.
Everything is working and I am so relieved I can enjoy my boat again. The
replacement product is very well designed, thanks again.
I called FP Marine Monday morning and asked questions about
your EIM replacement for my 2003 SeaRay 200BR you gave me all info so I ordered
your system and received it Wed. It looked very professional and included all
hardware and directions. It was about 2hrs to install and worked perfect. I
would recommend your system to any sea ray owner to replace a very bad EMI
system, sea ray should have installed your system to start with. Thanks FP
Hi Ed , this has been the best replacement I have ever did
on anything! Everything was just plug and play! The only modification I needed
to do is cut bigger hole in the side cavity to push harness through. The new
replacement looks much better then original! Thank you for building this with
such a quality!
Thank you again! Dmitri
Everything went well with the install, I believe the
customer will be very happy. If you have any further questions please feel free
to give me a call at 770-720-2922. Thanks
Recently I purchased and installed myself, the EIM
replacement system for my 2007 Sea Ray 320 Sundancer. I am very pleased with
the quality and looks of the new toggle/rocker switches; what a big improvement
over the original switches. Initially when I saw the new replacement wiring
harness, it looked very complicated but actually turned out to be fairly simple
to install. Everything matched up perfectly, adjustments had to be made to the
dash to make the new switches fit but the templates made that easy. I would
highly recommend this product to anyone who is having trouble with their
switches like I did. Now everything works like it is supposed to and they look
great. Everyone that I spoke to at FP Marine were very helpful with the
questions I had. Thank you so much for developing this product and making my
boating more enjoyable.
Thanks again, Marty
I have attached several photos of the completed project. The sun
didn't cooperate and I will try to get better shots next week.
Note that the dash is not perfectly flat at these locations so I didn't crank
down on the bottom screws. The plates flex slightly in this installation.
It is a very straight forward installation but takes a little effort due to
access and cutting the holes. You remove the access panel in the storage
area behind the dash to get access to the wiring. Cutting the holes
would probably be best done with a Dremel tool and blade for fiberglass. I used
several different tools. The actual wire harness connections are straight
forward and very easy to complete. It does take a few hours due to the required
Looks fantastic when complete and works great! Love the back light on the
symbols. I didn't expect that.
On another issue, do you make replacement dash panels for the 220SD. I
could send you my old dash panel as a template. I would need a slight
modification in the standard hole templates since I use 3 large gauges
(standard is 2) and 1 fewer small gauge.
WE have modified the size of the
panels since this feedback
Thank you for a product that does exactly what you say it
does and for a great price. It would have cost much more if I had rewired this
myself. I am an owner, of a 2002 Sea Ray 300 Sundancer. As
many of you now Sea Ray makes a very good boat but like all manufacturers some
ideas look great on paper don’t always work out in a practical way when the
harsh environments like salt water come into play. Sea Ray made touch pad
type switching sytem that looks great and worked well till last year. So
I got 19 years out of the original electrical components. I don’t think
you can ask for much better than that. Thankfully the folks at Flounder
Pounder Marine have a replacement solution that is actually better than the
original equipment. Not only is it more mechanical than electronic but it
really looks great and matches the original wood grain look of the rest of my
helm station. The system really is plug and play. I’m an
electrician so this never seemed like a big deal to install. However I
know most look at this as a really big job. Trust me, if you have a
moderate level of mechanical ability the professionals at FP Marine have taken
out the hard portion of this job by making the harnesses and equipment
customized to your boat. Therefore the installation and operation is
easy. DO NOT HESITATE TO SPEND THIS MONEY! You will not regret your
